Simulacrum is a project researching how human perception about space works and how Virtual Reality could make people believe they are walking in a much larger space while they are actually in a limited physical space. To achieve this, an algorithm and technique based on redirected walking are developed by our team. A 4 * 8 m2 room is used for the algorithm to generate an infinitely larger virtual space.

The team has also provided tactile sense by matching both of the boundaries in the physical room and virtual space for the viewers to physically feel the boundaries. So the virtual space feels more real than they think.
